The UK trustees of Ganet’s Adventure School Fund met in July to finalise the charity’s new strategy. Kate, Justina, Lucy, Steve and Asif (shown L-R above) attended, with apologies from our trustee Deirdre who was abroad at the time of the meeting.
We are delighted to have had your support over the last 10 years. This has enabled Ganet’s Adventure School to prosper with brick built classrooms, toilet blocks, teacher’s house, feeding gardens and water tank, textbooks and support for employing teachers and for their continuing education. It is wonderful that our continued work with Gertrude Banda and her team has enabled the school to gain the Ministry of Education recognition and approval as an exam centre. It has been hard but we have together made much progress.
We intend to widen our beneficiary base to include other education projects in Malawi. We will be sharing the new name with you very soon. We want our success and the experience we have gained to be extended successfully to support education provision to learners at other schools. Having consulted with Ganet’s Adventure School in Malawi and researched where we can make most impact within education in Malawi, we now need to obtain permission from the Charity Commission to change our objects, and shortly we hope to share our full plans with you all. We will of course be continuing to work with Ganet’s Adventure School.
We are seeking one or two new UK trustees to help us at this exciting time, email firstname.lastname@example.org if this is of interest or you can recommend someone.
